It is already hard enough to find time to do everything throughout the day let alone scheduling separate time blocks just for blogging. I have found the best way to do this is by sticking to a daily schedule. This is why I have created a free printable family planner that includes my daily blog tasks and schedule too.
Maintaining a schedule that has both my personal items and my blog items has made my life much easier. Now, I have one schedule to follow everyday. I used to keep my to-do lists separate, but I was constantly missing important appointments and not knowing which tasks needed to be done each day.
Free Printable Family Planner with Daily Blog Tasks
Once you print this out, you will see I made a spot for your ‘Must Do’ tasks. I like to prioritize my daily tasks and this is the perfect place. I can clearly see what actually needs to be done each day. Next, you will see a section titled ‘Daily Blog Tasks’ I listed a couple to get you started and then left a bunch of blank lines so that you can fill in your routine blog tasks.
I then made a column for time blocking. A lot of people think this is extreme, but it has helped me be much more productive. Not only will I use a timer when it comes to completing certain tasks, but scheduling out what I will be doing each hour has helped me out tremendously. It holds me accountable and lets me see how my day will be. Even though there are plenty of days where this will change I still like to block out certain times for particular tasks. Try it and let me know what you think!
I also included a notes section so that you would have a place to write down any other necessary information or ideas you have. The last part is a to-do list. I made three separate sections: Home, Blog, and Kids. I like to have a to-do list for my home that includes cleaning, cooking, organizing or any other daily tasks. The blog to-do list is a place where I can keep track of new items that need to be done. My kids to-do list is where I write down anything that is relevant or important to their day such as making an item for school or even taking snack to baseball. Having my to-do list all in one place allows me to quickly check off items throughout my day.
