2013 Year In Review – Frugal Fanatic

Wow, I cannot believe this year is over. Goodbye 2013 and hello 2014. I am excited to see we will accomplish this year. As we embark on a new year, I began reflecting on 2013 and picked out some of my favorite posts and projects.

2013 was a big year for our family with the arrival of Evan. Here are some of my favorites and some readers’ favorites as well.

1. First Day of Preschool
My oldest son, Connor, started 3year old preschool this past year.

This was a HUGE deal for him and me. Luckily, he loves going to school and looks forward to it each week.

2. Laundry Room Makeover
Our laundry room is one of my favorite rooms in our whole house now. It is simple and organized.

We were able to gain a lot of storage and really get good use out of our laundry room. My favorite part is definitely the chandelier {totally NOT necessary}.

3. Pay It Forward Event
This was one of my favorites from 2013. Being able to donate and pay it forward to help children in need is truly amazing.

We were able to provide 2 kids from a local with a TON of school supplies.

4. 10 Things I Forgot About Pregnancy
Even though this was my 3rd pregnancy I had forgot about some of the symptoms and weird things that happen when you are pregnant.

I will never understand why people feel the need to touch a pregnant stomach, but I recently found out that there is law banning strangers from touching pregnant bellies in my state!

5. Washable Sidewalk Paint
This is one of my kids’ favorite activities to do during the summer. It is extremely easy to make and your children will definitely have fun.

The best part, it washes right off!

6. Potty Train In 1 Week
I was very scared when it came to potty training. I read everything I possibly could about it before we jumped into the process.

We stuck to our method and {luckily} it was not that bad.

7. Monthly Budget Template
This was one of our readers’ favorite posts. I shared a free monthly budget template that I created.

This template makes it easy to track your monthly expenses so that you can begin to increase your savings. Keeping track of your finances and budgeting your expenses will help you reach your long-term savings goals.

8. Homemade Brown Sugar Scrub
This DIY project is not only easy, but will save you some money. You do not need to pay department store prices when you can make your own sugar scrub at home.

This is also a great gift idea and you can alter the ingredients.

9. Evan’s Nursery

We welcomed out sweet baby boy Evan into our lives at the end of September. Before he made his arrival we were able to create a special nursery designed just for him.

10. Reese Peanut Butter Trifle

I am all about easy desserts and trifles are as simple as they come.

I am extremely grateful for this past year. Frugal Fanatic has grown tremendously and I had the opportunity to work with so many new companies and sponsors. I look forward to what 2014 has to bring and I am very thankful for all of you!!
