I am sharing my tips for making money with online surveys along with a few of my favorite online survey companies.

Right after I had my first son I would cruise the Internet for different ways to make money from home. I wasn’t looking to get rich and didn’t expect to make anything significant, but I did want to find a way to make some extra cash.One of the first things I did was check out how to make money with online surveys. I felt like I heard everyone saying that you could, “make money taking online surveys,” and “free online surveys sites can earn you cash,” but I was hesitant to even try it

.I didn't have a lot of time since I had a newborn, but I wanted to see if it was actually possible to earn money with online surveys. So, I joined a bunch of different sites to see which one would actually payout real money.

What drew me in was the fact that I could earn a little bit of extra money from home. I didn’t have to leave my house, or do anything crazy. I could just fill out surveys from my couch and earn money.

Again, I wasn’t expecting to make a HUGE amount, I just wanted to have a little bit of extra spending money.

Below I am sharing my tips for making money with online surveys along with a few of my favorite companies.

Make sure the site is legit

Do your research before joining the survey site. You want to make sure it is legitimate and they will actually pay you out for your efforts. One thing to be cautious of is that if the site asks for any kind of money or investment from you then steer clear. They should be paying YOU not the other way around.Beware if they are offering large amounts of money for completing the survey. If it seems too good to be true, most likely it is. I like to keep a list of company names that I signed up with to make sure that when I receive an email about doing a survey it is a real company that I joined.Below you will find a list of legitimate survey sites that you can join.

Update your profile

Be sure to keep your profile up to date. You never know what these companies are looking for when it comes to surveys. To up your chances of a survey fitting your criteria you can keep your profile current. For example, if you get a new pet or buy a new home, update your survey profiles to reflect these changes.

Monitor the payout status

Like I mentioned above, I keep a list of the survey companies I use, and I also keep track of the money I am owed from completing a survey.You always want to monitor the payout to make sure you are getting the amount owed. Some of the companies have a payout threshold, so keep a spreadsheet of what and when you will get a payment so that you can withdraw it into your account.

Sign up for several different sites

I always recommend signing up for a few different sites so that you can increase the amount of surveys you can complete.You may find that after you join an online survey site that they only have a couple of surveys for you to complete per month. To increase your earnings you want to join several different sites to earn more money each month.I recommend using Inbox Dollars, Opinion Outpost, Pinecone, American Consumer Opinion.

Take the survey as soon as possible

This may mean checking your inbox frequently, but you want to take advantage of any opportunities that they send you.Survey companies are looking to get a quick turn around and sometimes it will be a first come first serve basis.
