This chocolate mint trifle is simple and yummy! This is a delicious dessert to make for St. Patricks Day and you only need a few ingredients.

I am a huge fan of Andes Candies so I was really excited to make a trifle with this chocolate mint candy. You could also change up the ingredients and use mint Oreos or peppermint patties. Below you will find out ingredients along with step-by-step instructions for this trifle recipe.

Chocolate Mint Trifle Ingredients:

  • Brownies {You can also use chocolate cake}
  • 1 Large Container Cool Whip
  • 1 Pack Instant Vanilla Pudding
  • Green Food Coloring
  • Andes Candies

Chocolate Mint Trifle Directions:

Start this trifle by preparing the brownie or chocolate cake. Let it cool before beginning the layers of the trifle. Next, make your instant pudding and add a few drops of green food coloring until you get the desired color. Refrigerate. It seems to set up better if the pudding is slightly cold. I then filled a small plastic bag with some Andes Candies and crushed them in the bag for my middle layer. You can leave them whole if you prefer bigger pieces.

You are now ready to start your layers. I always start with the brownies of cake because it gives the trifle a base and makes it easier to serve. You can either break it up into pieces to add into your trifle bowlor cut larger pieces to put at the bottom. Either way is fine. Here are the layers I did for this chocolate mint trifle:

  1. Layer of Brownies
  2. Layer of Green Pudding
  3. Layer of Cool Whip
  4. Layer of Andes Candies – Half crushed and half whole pieces
  5. Repeat

I also decided to make a few dessert shooters with the leftover ingredients I had. Normally I add a few more layers but since I was taking this to a party I did not want it to overflow. I did a few different varieties with the chocolate mint ingredients. I like making dessert shooters because it helps prevent me from eating a huge portion!
