Minnie Mouse Party On A Budget

If your child loves Minnie Mouse and wants to have a Minnie mouse themed birthday party then check out our tips that will help to save you money. Hosting a birthday party can be expensive and it is hard to hold back sometimes when it comes to what your kids want. I know that I love incorporating the birthday party theme into all of the decorations if possible.

Budget Ideas: Minnie Mouse Party

  1. Find a Polka Dot Dress – Instead of splurging on an expensive Minnie Mouse costume for a girl, it is possible to substitute with a polka dot dress. Thrift stores and garage sales may have a red dress with white polka dots that will turn your child into Minnie Mouse without ruining your budget.
  2. Make Your Own Mouse Ears – You can create your own mouse ears out of a black headband and some black construction paper. Simply cut out large circles and tape or glue the ears to the headband. If you buy cheap, plastic headbands in bulk from a store, then you can create mouse ears for the entire birthday group. You can also make your own red bows out of ribbons and attach them to the headbands. This would make a great activity for the kids who attend the party.
  3. Search Party Stores for Supplies – Minnie Mouse party kits offer an easy way to stock up on paper plates, napkins and other supplies in one shopping trip. However, you may save money by buying the items individually and searching for Minnie Mouse themes at local party stores. Often, you can find plates, cups, utensils and napkins with the right theme. You can also go with a simple black, red and white theme, so it will be easier to find the items you need.
  4. Get Creative with the Cake – If your baking skills are preventing you from making your own Minnie Mouse cake, then you can simply purchase or create any birthday cake and let the decorations take over. Stores often have cheap, plastic Minnie Mouse figurines you can use to adorn the cake. You do not have to limit yourself to the figurines. A simple polka dot theme can also make the cake stand out.

do you have an idea for the food? I’m currently in culinary school and for birthday parties, I seem to go over board.
I want to do “mini/Minnie” sized items… was thinking Minnie pizzas (bagel bits or pizza rolls) , Minnie Fishes (baby goldfish), Hot Diggity Dogs (pigs in a blanket)… any other clever ideas ?
