I love that you can add anything to make them suit the party or occassion. This time I decided to try to make a red velvet trifle. I wanted to keep it simple so I did not add a lot into the ingredients.

Red Velvet Trifle Ingredients:

Red Velvet Cake - this can be homemade or store boughtChocolate Pudding - either 1 large box or 2 small boxes1 Large tub of Cool Whip

Red Velvet Trifle Directions:

You can start to make the trifle by preparing the cake. Follow the directions on the box or make it homemade. I am not that great in the kitchen so I always buy boxed cake mix. Next, you can make the pudding and let it refrigerate for a few minutes. Now you are ready to start making the layers of your trifle recipe.

  • Layer of Cake - I like to crumble the cake into pieces, but you can cut larger chunks too.
  • Layer of Chocolate Pudding
  • Layer of Cool Whip
  • Repeat

Since I was taking this dessert to a party I did not want to put too much into the trifle bowl because I needed to fit the lid on it. So, I was able to do 2 layers of each of the ingredients and put a little extra cool whip on the top layer.
