Even though my kids are out of school for the summer I like to find fun ways to sneak in educational activities. Not only will this help them to keep learning throughout the next few months, but it will help set the stage for when they go back to school. I noticed how quickly my boys were forgetting some of their numbers and even the alphabet now that they did not have constant classroom instruction. So, I wanted to come up with an entertaining, yet educational way to make snacking fun. To feed their imaginations, and their bellies, I made some printable placemats filled with different games and activities they can complete.
I knew they would like this, but I did not know how much fun they would have! I printed three copies of the placemat and then laminated each one so that we can wash and reuse them.
On the placemat I made:
This was really fun for my boys. They used different snacks instead of drawing on the placemat.
The bullseye was used to see how many snacks they could stack up. I then would tell them to take away 1 or 2 and tell me how many they had left. This quickly became a fun activity where they tried to build different objects with a set amount of snacks.
This game will help your child count and recognize numbers 1-4.
This is a fun place for them to doodle or even create pictures with their food. Get creative!
I added the place setting as a spot for them to draw out there food or make the plate look like the snacks they are eating.
My kids had so much fun with these yummy snacks. Horizon Organics wants to help you and your family make snacking a creative and fun experience. They want to foster imagination and build confidence and curiosity through the snacks that your kids eat.
You can print out this reusable placemat at home and make your snack time snack fun and educational for your kids.
