Caterpillar Clothes Pin Craft

I love making crafts with my boys. It gives them the opportunity to use their imaginations and our craft supplies without limits. This kids craft is based off of the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar so this craft can be both fun and educational! You can teach your kids about caterpillars and then make our Coffee Filter Butterfly craft to show them the transformation!

Caterpillar Clothes Pin Craft Supplies:

  • Clothes Pins
  • Glue
  • Pom-Poms
  • Googley eyes
  • Paint/ Markers {optional – if you have plain clothes pins and want them to paint them}

Caterpillar Clothes Pin Directions:

This craft is pretty self explanatory. All you need to do is put glue on to the clothes pins and then decorate them. Make sure the face is at the closed end of the caterpillar so that it is easier to hold when it is finished.

It makes it easier if you use a lot of glue. Especially when it comes to putting the eyes onto the caterpillar. They are so small and stick to your fingers, so put a decent amount of glue on before you do the eyes. My three year old did much better with this than the two year old. This would be a great craft for school aged children because the pieces are smaller and a little bit harder to work with.
