Are you looking for a fun and easy outdoor activity to do with your kids? You will absolutely LOVE this easy DIY crafts! With the weather finally starting to be nice out we are outside all the time. My kids are eager to find new activities and ways to have fun outside, and I am eager to find inexpensive ways to entertain them.
Not only is this fun to make with your kids but they will love to be able to paint your sidewalks and driveways outside. Most likely you already have all of the ingredients in your pantry. The best part is there is no harsh chemicals so it is safe for children.
DIY Crafts: Washable Sidewalk Paint Ingredients
- 1 Cup Conrstarch
- 2 Cups Water
- Food Coloring
- Paint Brushes
- Container for Paint/Muffin Pan or Ice Cube Tray
DIY Crafts: Washable Sidewalk Paint Directions:
- Combine water and cornstarch. (its easiest if you put it in something with a lid and can just shake it up)
- Divide evenly into containers. A muffin pan is great for this or any other jar that you have.
- Add a few drops of food coloring. Do not add too much. Our sidewalk is light in color and seemed a bit harder to rinse off.
My boys were thrilled when I told them we would be painting outside. Luckily we had a few of the really cheap paint brushes left over from other projects, but you can also use those paint sponges too.
Not only is this washable so it is easy to clean up your kids and their clothes, but you can just rinse it away with the hose. I love DIY crafts that have EASY clean-up! My kids loved being able to paint outside without having to worry about getting anywhere they aren’t normally allowed to.
