Planning a Road Trip with Toddlers

For our long road trip this year I made each of our boys a small activity kit to keep them busy in the car. We are headed to the beach and our total drive time to reach our destination is 9 1/2 hours. I can honestly say that I am not looking forward to the drive. Being 8 months pregnant and traveling with a 3 year old and a 2 year old is a lot of work. This will be our first long road trip now that our older son is potty trained so I am sure we will have many more bathroom breaks this year.I decided to make each of my boys a small little kit to give them once they become ancy in the car. I thought it would be nice to give them something that will hopefully keep them busy for a little while at a time. Since they are much younger I was not sure what to put in our road trip with toddlers activity pouch. I was able to pick up the items in the dollar section at Target. Even if these items only keeps them occupied for a few minutes at a time I will be pretty excited! Here is what I put in their kits.

Road Trip with Toddlers Activities:

  • Washable Maker Pouch - This is made for older kids because it comes with math problems on it but I can stick in some coloring book pages and I know they will be thrilled to be using markers on it.
  • Monters University Activity Set - This set came with stickers, crayons and a small activity book. Both of my kids love stickers.
  • Etch-A-Sketch - We were given these as a gift for the holidays and I thought they would be perfect to use in the car.
  • Flash Cards - These flash cards have both shapes and numbers on them and will be fun to make a game out of finding the ones that they already know.
