Peanut Butter Trifle Recipe

I love making different kinds of dessert trilfes. They are so easy but looks like you spent a lot of time on it. If you have an upcoming party you definitely need to try this!

Peanut Butter Trifle Recipe Ingredients:

  • Brownies or Cake {these can be homemade or store bought}
  • 2 Containers of Cool Whip or 1 Large container
  • 1 Package of Reese Cups
  • 1 pack of Instant Chocolate Pudding
  • 1 pack Instant Vanilla Pudding
  • 2 tbsp. Peanut Butter
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla
  • Optional – Chocolate Chips
  • Extras: you can add caramel sauce or hot fudge

Peanut Butter Trifle Recipe Directions:

You want to start by preparing the brownies or cake. If you choose to use store bought then you can get started right away, otherwise wait until your brownies/cake have cooled. Next, prepare your pudding. I added the peanut butter and vanilla into the vanilla pudding. I recommend using the instant pudding. You will then need to crush up some of the reese cups unless you prefer them to be while. I did this by placing them into a baggie and just smashing them with my hands. I like to save a few extras just in case you want bigger pieces on top of the peanut butter trifle.

Now begin your layers into the Trifle Bowl . I like to start with the brownies/cake so that it has a base at the bottom. I think it makes it easier to serve, but you can layer it however you want. Here are the layers I did:

  1. Layer of Brownies and chocolate chips
  2. Layer of Chocolate Pudding
  3. Layer of Cool Whip
  4. Layer of Vanilla Pudding
  5. Layer of Brownies, Reese Cups and Chocolate Chips
  6. Repeat

  1. I have a trifle dish/bowl exactly like this that we bought in Corning, NY on vacation that I’ve never used. I’ll be hosting a neighbor’s birthday party and this will be a great idea. Anytime you get to eat Reese’s PB cups is heavenly!

  2. If you add Carmel sauce or hot fudge, where do you put it? And would you still refrigerate it with hot fudge added? And my store has a small and a large truffle bowl; which one is this?
